چکیده
Abstract Human urine is a readily available nutrient source that can complement commercial fertilizer production, which relies on finite mineral resources and global supply chains. This study evaluated the effectiveness of simplified solar distillation process for to recover phosphorus (P) nitrogen agricultural use water non-potable purposes. Synthetic fresh, synthetic hydrolyzed, real hydrolyzed were exposed direct sunlight 6 h in simple apparatus, produced bottoms distillate. Metal phosphate precipitation was P. The recovered as Hydrolyzed more metal solid had higher conductivity distillate than fresh urine. also achieved greater volume recovery presence UV-absorbing organics therefore lower-quality product water. There no significant correlation between daily high air temperature recovered. provides comprehensive data set human considering fate nutrients different types

Full Nitrogen Recovery and Potable Water Production from Human Urine by Membrane Distillation
Human urine offers some interesting possibilities for ammonia and potable water recovery. Membrane distillation holds possible advantages over existing urine treatment technologies, specifically regarding ammonia recovery. It was shown that up to 95 m% of all ammonia present in hydrolyzed urine could be recovered by increasing the urine pH to 10.5 or higher within a period of 2 hours, with a ma...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
Removal of trace metal contaminants from potable water by electrocoagulation
This study investigated the effects of four operational and environmental variables on the removal of trace metal contaminants from drinking water by electrocoagulation (EC). Removal efficiencies for five metals (arsenic, cadmium, chromium, lead and nickel) were compared under varying combinations of electrode material, post-treatment, water composition and pH. Iron electrodes out-performed alu...
متن کاملElectrochemical Stripping to Recover Nitrogen from Urine
Electrochemical stripping, a novel extension of electrodialysis, was used to recover nitrogen from source-separated urine. Urine has high nitrogen concentrations, making it an ideal waste stream for nitrogen recovery. A three-chamber, two-membrane cell was used to measure efficiencies and barriers to nitrogen migration. In preliminary batch studies, half of the influent nitrogen was recovered a...
متن کاملPotable Water Savings by Using Rainwater for Non-Potable Uses in Houses
Abstract: The objective of this study is to assess the potential for potable water savings by using rainwater as well as the sizing of rainwater tanks in houses in some cities in the world. Daily rainfall data for thirteen cities located in different countries were used. Different catchment areas, number of residents, potable and rainwater demands were considered in order to assess their impact...
